SIP 355C
FM Transmitter
This study,
covering the monaural FM Radio Transmitter, places emphasis on the basic
principles of producing frequency modulation. A reactance type modulator is
used for deviating the RF oscillator. A varicap is made to deviate in
capacity by either a DC voltage or audio signal. The frequency deviation is
measured by a built-in deviation meter after frequency multiplication. The
Panel includes a built-in deviation monitor circuit. Narrow-band FM
modulation is provided. The course provides for approximately 40 hours of
instruction.
EQUIPMENT
SPECIFICATIONS
 |
The FM
Transmitter Panel, painted on one side and having a green mask on the
reverse side, includes numerous test points. |
 |
The
circuitry provides a crystal oscillator which can be deviated by a
reactance modulation: 3.5 MHz. |
 |
There are
two stages of RF amplification and multiplication: 7 and 10.74 MHz. |
 |
Buffer
Amplifiers, Doublers, and Tripler Amplifiers are covered in this study. |
 |
An audio
amplifier circuit provides audio modulation. A microphone is provided
with the panel. 100 Hz - 5
KHz. |
 |
A
crystal-controlled frequency (3.5 MHz) deviation monitor, which includes
a deviation meter, is included in the panel design. Deviation: 0-1.5
KHz. |
 |
A
Comprehensive Manual covering basic FM transmission is provided. It
includes theory, laboratory experimentation, questions, answers, and
solid-state device data. |
 |
Transmitter
output power of 0.5 mW to 0.70 mW. |
