LABORATORY MANUAL
Ten major chapters cover the topics of transmission lines; waveguides and resonant cavities; solid-state, vacuum tube and special devices; antennas, noise, and practical applications. A total of thirteen laboratory exercises are interwoven into these chapters to provide practical hands-on learning experiences for the students. Several of these experiments provide additional background material and calculations in topics ranging from fiber optics to the use of the Smith Chart. The student will need some background in trigonometry and algebra—including exponents and logarithms—and should be familiar with scientific notation, which is used extensively. All problems have accompanying solutions. Each chapter concludes with a set of Review Questions and their answers.
