SIP398C Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX)

This computer-based course utilizes digital controlled modern PABX circuitry. On Panel SIP398-1, a Z80 CPU and EPROM interface with voice circuits to provide a PABX System having two trunk lines and four extensions. An external interface board enables the system to operate with or without the use of external telephone lines. The telephones interface with the panel using RJ11 modular jacks. The system is completely compatible with U.S. telephone systems and can be used on external telephone lines. The principles of branch exchanges using microprocessors are introduced in Panel SIP398-2 (PABX switching). The system also includes a public address system and many other features. Of significant importance is the diagnostic technique available with use of a computer. The panels also contain LEDs for diagnosing and isolating malfunctions. The panels interface with a computer which uses remote diagnostic techniques. The computer, via a modem, can be used to diagnose the PABX from any place where telephone lines exist around the world. The course provides for 75 hours of instruction.

The PABX System interfaces with the Microwave Communication System, Multiplexing Panels, and Digital Communications Systems.
