Phased-Locked Loop and
Synthesizer Circuits

SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This course features the study of a variety of circuits which make use of
Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) integrated circuits. A study is made of the different modes of
operation. Crystal-controlled oscillators are divided down to stabilize frequencies in the
audio frequency range.
The divider steps are also programmed from a 4 MHz oscillator in steps of
10 KHz. Both the individual sections of a phase-locked loop and a complete synthesizer are
investigated.
