SIP326
Stereo Audio Amplifier

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The stereo audio amplifier panel contains 12 fault insertion switches used to teach diagnostic and trouble-shooting techniques on standard types of audio amplifiers, such as are found in consumer and commercial electronic equipment. Such amplifiers are utilized in hi-fi equipment, tape recorders, FM radios, public address systems, etc. Portions of the system are also used in telecommunications. The panel is designed so that malfunctions can be inserted at various points. When the panel is rotated and inserted backwards in the Master Builder, students can perform the diagnostic tests from the foil side of the printed-circuit board.

The audio level light bar displays the electrical signals at the output of both preamplifiers; a level control adjustment is provided.

Test pins are included at significant points in the amplifier system, and standard types of test instruments can be used.

A well-written laboratory manual describes the operation of each section of the amplifier and also provides diagnostic techniques to be followed when using both sine and square waves for the testing of amplifiers.
