AM/DSB Transmitter
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The Transmitter Insertion Panel, along with its comprehensive manual, teaches the basic
principles of amplitude modulation (AM). The panel contains an RF oscillator, audio
modulator, RF amplifier and antenna, and oscilloscope amplifier. The AM double-sidebands
and carrier can be observed.
The concepts of single-sideband transmission are demonstrated by showing the suppressed carrier waver and its two sidebands.
places emphasis on teaching the basic principles of producing frequency modulation. The panel includes an RF Oscillator whose frequency is modulated by use of a varicap and audio amplifier. The frequency deviation is measured, frequency multiplying is demonstrated, and other experiments are performed.
