Doppler Radar

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course describes how a Doppler Microwave Transmitter/Receiver can be used for numerous applications of radar, including (1) to determine the speed of moving objects; (2) in security when an intrusion occurs; (3) in industrial processing to determine the number of items produced or rejected; or (4) in the control of switches such as optical couplers and mechanical devices.

The equipment includes a Doppler Radar Panel (SIP366-1P) with a detachable microwave head, a Velocity Simulator, and a comprehensive Laboratory Manual.  The trainee is provided with an opportunity to develop additional circuitry that can interface with the Doppler Panel.  Mechanisms are provided on the panel for control of external circuits via an optocoupler.

The principles of Doppler Radar combine with Pulse Radar to describe the operation of Moving Target Indicator (MTI) circuitry.
